제목 Synthesis of density-controlled graphene oxide-coated silica sphere and its electrorheological study
초록 Density-controlled graphene oxide-coated mesoporous silica spheres (GO/SiO2) are investigated to study the influence of particle density on electrorheological (ER) activity. In particular, various silica spheres are fabricated with Stöber, surfactant template, and swelling agent incorporation methods to create different sized pores on the surface of silica spheres. Graphene oxide sheets are successfully coated on the surface of silica spheres via electrostatic interaction to enhance the ER efficiency. Under our experimental condition, GO/SiO2 with lowest particle density exhibits most increased ER activity due to increased particle mobility. Interestingly, the shear stress inversion phenomenon is observed to deviate from the utilized trend. This newly designed ER study offers an insight into the effect of the particle density on the ER performance.
