In this study, experiments of a nickel elecroplating were performed by a plating emulsion solution of CO2/electrolyte/surfactant/entrainer in the supercritical nanoplating system to investigate the effect of the electrolyte concentration on plating properties. Electrolytes such as nickel sulfate hexahydrate and nickel chloride were used in the experiment. Plating properties were best at electrolyte concentration of 20 wt%, where weight ratios of electrolyte over surfactant and nickel sulfate hexahydrate over nickel chloride were 20:5 and 350:30, respectively. Resistivity values decreased 60, 35, and 25 Ω at 5, 10, and 15 wt% electrolyte, respectively, and over 20 wt%, the resistivity value was kept constant at 20 Ω. The nickel electroplating was performed by the emulsion solution with 20 wt% electrolyte at 8 MPa. |
