There is substantial and growing interest in using conjugated polymers as the responsive basis for chemical and biological detection schemes. Hyperbranched polymers have been intensively studied in recent years due to their good solubility, processability, and tunable physical and chemical properties, which are advantageous for their application in LED devices. In addition, they have a globular structure; the highly twisted structure will decrease intermolecular interactions, and compared with dendrimers, hyperbranched polymers are easy to synthesize bearing comparable properties. In this work our aim was to synthesize conjugated hyperbranched polymers reacted with 4-formylphenylboronic acid and 2,5-didecyloxy-p-terphenyl-4,4’-dialdehyde. The novel conjugated hyperbranched polymers are expected to have improved properties, such as high fluorescence quantum yield and easiness to synthesis. |
