Surface plasmons (SPs) have attracted a considerable attentions due to their unique properties. When noble metal nanostructures are closely spaced, the LSPR results in coupling in the interspace of the objects, or strong electromagnetic field generation. A lot of studies have been carried out and it has been reported that the fabrication of periodic metallic nanostructures with sharp-edge configurations are essential to the maximization of hot spot efficiency. In this study, uniform and well-ordered micro-dimple array was fabricated by self-assembled liquid crystal defect structure, so called toric focal conic domains (TFCDs). From the first and second replica molding by using NOA and PDMS, the dimple structure on the PDMS was formed. The thin gold layer (40nm) was deposited on the PDMS dimple array and it shows field enhancement phenomenon. Enhanced fluorescence observation with quantum dot and FDTD simulation were performed to prove the effectiveness of plasmonic array. |
