제목 Characteristics of epoxy resin/graphene nanocomposites with reversible Diels-Alder reaction
초록 Epoxy resin is one of high performance thermosetting plastics showing excellent chemical resistance and heat stability. However, reprocessing of the crosslinked epoxy resin is limited due to the indiffusivity of the networks. Recently, many researchers reported thermally remendable network polymers based on the dynamic covalent bonds such as Diels-Alder (DA) reaction adducts, disulfide groups, and azomethine groups. DA reaction is one of the well-known thermo-reversible reactions for various applications under mild condition. It is worthwhile to note that graphene may function as either diene or dienophile in the DA reactions due to the zero-band-gap electronic structures. Recently, we investigated nanocomposites of epoxy resin and graphene in which furfuryl amine was used as hardener of the epoxy resin. It was observed that furfuryl amine underwent DA reaction with GNP during the cure. The crosslinked epoxy resin showed self-healing properties at elevated temperatures.
