A bionanocomposite was prepared from the photopolymerizable monomers derived from biorenewable resources including acrylated epoxidized soybean oil (AESO), N-vinylpyrrolidone(NVP) and tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate(THFA) with organically modified clay(Closite 30B) by UV curing. Degree of dispersion of the organoclay in the matrix polymer was examined by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy analysis. Photocure behavior of the system was investigated by a photoDSC and real-time FTIR, and coating properties of the UV cured nanocomposites including tensile and dynamic mechanical properties, optical transparency, pencil hardness and surface gloss were measured. |
