Lithium–air battery (LAB) has been considered as afuture technology for resolving energy and environmental issues. During thelast decade, much effort has been devoted to realizing state-of-the-art LABs,and remarkable scientific advances have been proceeded in thisresearch field. Although LABs exhibited great potential for efficientenergy storage applications due to its high theoretical energy density, limitedattention has been paid on estimating the performance of practical andlarge-scale LABs or systems, which can verify the feasibility for realizationof the LAB technology. Here, the scalability of a LAB was evaluated consideringthe various materials and design/performance parameters, and the promisingstrategy for designing and fabricating large-scale LABs with high energydensity was addressed. |
