Mg is attracting attention as an eco-friendly material with low carbon dioxide emissions because energy consumption can be reduced when used as a lightweight material. Since most processes that separate magnesium and calcium sources from abundant resources, dolomite, emit large amounts of CO2, research and development of new processes that can directly reduce CO2 emissions are required. In this study, an eco-friendly and economical process development study was conducted to separate Mg and Ca sources from dolomite through CO2 conversion at low reaction temperatures and short reaction times. Products generated through the research process were analyzed by TGA, 1H NMR, XRD, and ICP-OES. Finally, the Mg source separated from the dolomite was identified as MgO or Mg(OH)2, and the Ca source was identified as Ca(HCO2)2. |
