Electrochemical Performance Behaviors of Manganese Oxides Particle-doped Activated Carbon Derived from Petroleum Pitch |

Petroleum pitch is a complex of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and it can be used as active materials for supercapacitor electrode. Petroleum pitch was activated with KOH. Then, manganese oxides particle-doped activated carbon was prepared with different concentrations of KMnO4. The structure properties were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The morphological properties were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The textural properties were investigated by N2/77 K adsorption isotherms using Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) equation. The electrochemical performance was confirmed by cyclic voltammograms (CV). The results indicated that the concentration of manganese oxides could affect the electrochemical properties of the activated carbon synthesized by petroleum pitch. |
