Stretchable electronics has been perceived as an alternative technology for the realization of the next generation of electronic applications. The electronic devices require at least one electrode material that must, additionally, be both highly conductive and transparent. Indium tin oxide, which is commonly used materials as transparent conductive electrodes (TCEs), is not suitable as transparent electrodes for flexible and stretchable devices because it is brittle and cracks easily under mechanical stress. Accordingly, new materials to substitute ITO are being investigated. In this work, we report a highly conductive and stretchable TCEs and PLED by using modified PEDOT:PSS on polyurethane substrate. The resulting TCEs show high stretchability(mechanical strain ~70%), high transparency(optical transmittance>80% at a wavelength of 550nm) and high conductivity(sheet resistance~100ohm/sq). Using stretchable TCEs, we have demonstrated highly stretchable PLED. |
