The study of compatible blend of Poly lactic acid (PLA) with Poly (butylene succinate) ionomer (PBSi) |
초록 |
PLA was melt-blended with PBSi to improve the flexibility and to increase the crystallization rate. To confirm the compatibility, we measured glass transition temperatures and observed the tensile fractured surface through the SEM. The Tg was decreased and the SEM images showed that PLA/PBSi blends have a smoother fractured surface than PLA with increasing PBSi contents. The DMA analysis and SEM images should be explain that the compatibility of PLA/PBSi blend was increased with increasing PBSi within PLA phase. We analyzed the cold crystallization temperature (Tcc) to estimate the crystallization rate through the DSC. The Tcc of PLA/PBSi blends shifted to lower temperature with increasing PBSi contents, indicating that PBSi as a heterogeneous nucleating agent accelerate the crystallization of PLA. Remarkably, the elongation at break of PLA/PBSi blends significantly increased up to about 140 % with a little decrease of tensile strength up to about 18% depending on the PBSi contents. |
