Dry reforming of methane (DRM) is an indisputably good choice for the conversion of two main greenhouse gases CH4 and CO2 to value added products, syngas (H2 and CO). We have synthesized Ni based catalysts supported on SBA-15 in the presence of citric acid and CeO2 using an incipient wetness impregnation method. The main goal of our work is to investigate the effect of CeO2 and citric acid on the activity and the coke-resistance of catalysts for DRM reaction. SBA-15 with its high surface area, long range ordered mesoporous channels, would facilitates loading of highly dispersed Ni (7wt%) and CeO2 and prohibit the sintering of Ni and CeO2. Furthermore, the addition of citric acid has improved the dispersion of active sites. For better understanding of structure-performance relationship, various physicochemical and catalytic characterizations have been conducted for the fresh and used catalysts. |
