Inorganic semiconductors or quantum dots-sensitized photovoltaic cells have been considered as a promising candidate of replacing conventional Ru/organic dyes-sensitized solar cells because of their unique properties such as intrinsically larger dipole moment, convenient bandgap tunability, strong absorption coefficient, multiple exciton generation and good stability. Therefore metal chalcogenides such as CdS(e), PbS(e), and Sb2S3 have been studied to develope very efficient photovoltaic cells. Among them, we have focused on the Sb2S3 inorganic sensitizer owing to its excellent optical properties such as high absorption coefficient at visible region and suitible band gap. Here we would like to introduce recent trend of inorganic semiconductors-sensitized photovoltaic cells and share recent progress of our research activities. |
