제목 | Sol-gel Transition Behavior of Biodegradable PLGA-PEG Triblock and Star-Block Copolymer Solution |
초록 | Recently, biodegradable linear block copolymers of PEG and polyester have been investigated intensively to make up for disadvantages of Pluronic, which has attracted considerable attention to be used as injectable drug delivery. In this study, biodegradable triblock and 3armed, 4armed star-shaped block copolymers of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and poly(DL lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) were synthesized by using nontoxic ethylene glycol, glycerol and pentaerythritol as initiators. The sol-gel transition behavior of star-shaped block copolymer was compared with that of triblock copolymer and their blends. The temperature-dependent sol-gel transition behavior of the concentrated solution was investigated by the tube tilting method. The critical micelle concentration and micelle size of resulting products were determined by UV-Vis spectroscopy and dynamic light scattering. From this work, the effects of architecture and the number of arms of star block copolymer on the sol-gel transition behavior and micellization were investigated. |
