제목 All-Silica Deca-dodecasil 3R (DDR) Zeolite Membrane for CO2 Separation: Elucidation of Hydrophobic Effect on DDR Membrane
초록  An all-silica deca-dodecasil 3R (Si-DDR) zeolite with a pore size of 0.36 × 0.44 nm2 is highly suitable for separation of CO2 (0.33 nm) from N2 (0.364 nm) based on molecular-sieving effect. Hydrophobic DDR zeolite films with h0h-orientation were fabricated by the epitaxial growth of a DDR seed layer. The degree of the out-of-plane orientation and inter-growth was increased with the secondary growth time. On the other hand, the defects that provide non-selective pathways reduced as the DDR membrane grew. The CO2/N2 separation factor (SF) of the DDR membrane could be achieved up to 15.9 at 50 °C in the presence of H2O molecules. The diffusion of the larger N2 molecule was more hindered by H2O molecules adsorbed on the membrane surface; it indicates that this surface resistance caused by H2O vapor was developed due to the hydrophobicity of the DDR membrane.
