Remarkable advances in solution processable semiconducting polymers has led to unprecedented progress in organic electronics and to meet the requirements for the high-performance, flexible organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). However, new methodologies are still sought to utilize organic semiconductors in broad range of new electronic applications. Recently, multicomponent systems have gained particular attention due to their tune-ability of material characteristics. In this contribution, we show recent advances and our results in high-performance OFETs based on polymer binary blends. Fundamental aspects of morphological, optical and electric properties of semiconducting/insulating polymer blends are discussed. Especially, we shed light on the new functionalities of the binary blends for various applications. Finally, various functional applications are demonstrated using our blending systems showing a major step toward future ubiquitous electronics. |
