제목 Comparative study of nitrogen and sulfur co-doped carbon nanotubes for the oxygen reduction reaction
초록 A proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is one of promising candidates to alter the conventional fossil-fueled power sources. Although the Pt is known as an efficient catalyst for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), its cost and scarcity limit the commercialization of the PEMFC. For decades, alternative non-precious metal catalysts have been extensively studied. The nitrogen doped carbon materials most widely adopted for the ORR owing to its large electronegativity compared to carbon. Moreover, additional heteroatom doping into nitrogen doped carbon-based materials can synergistically enhance the ORR activity. In the study, nitrogen and sulfur co-doped carbon nanotubes (NSCNTs) were prepared as the ORR catalyst by pyrolysis method. The NSCNTs prepared with different synthetic conditions exhibited various physicochemical characteristics. Furthermore, the electrochemical performances of the NSCNTs were evaluated by implementing a rotating disk electrode measurement.
