Solution-processable 2,7-bis(5'-(2-ethylhexyl)-[2,2'-bithiophen]-5-yl)-9H-fluoren-9-one (4), 2-(2,7-bis(5'-(2-ethylhexyl)-[2,2'-bithiophen]-5-yl)-9H-fluoren-9-ylidene)malononitrile (5), 2,7-bis(5'-octyl-[2,2'-bithiophen]-5-yl)-9H-fluoren-9-one (6), and 2-(2,7-bis(5'-octyl-[2,2'-bithiophen]-5-yl)-9H-fluoren-9-ylidene)malononitrile (7) were synthesized and characterized as solution-processable organic semiconductors for organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs). Thermal, optical, and electrochemical properties of the fluorenone-based semiconductors were investigated. The solution-sheared thin films based on fluorenone derivatives exhibited n and p-channel characteristics as an active layer in organic thin-film transistors according to the structure. The highest electron mobility was 0.085 cm2 V−1s−1. |
