제목 pH Sensitive Polymeric Sensor Using Fluorescence Quenching by Gold Nanoparticles
초록 Gold nanoparticle has been of great interest over the past decade because of its unique properties and potential application such as biochemical sensor. In this work, a potent polymeric pH sensor is synthesized by using the optical property of gold nanoparticle as a fluorescence quencher. For this purpose, a gold nanoparticle is attached to the one end of pH-sensitive polymer chain and a pyrene molecule is linked to the other end. pH-responsive polymer is synthesized by ATRP using sulfadimethoxine monomer whose pKa is 6.1. Hence, the fluorescence emitted from pyrene is quenched below its pKa as the polymeric backbone is shrunk while the fluorescence survives above its pKa. This optical change is observed as a function of pH.
