White pitch causes serious problems in runnabilities and product qualities in the paper machines using coated broke. A project has been developed to resolve the white pitch problem in a paper machine. As a first step, the test method to evaluate the amount of white pitch in papermaking stock has been developed and factors affecting white pitch deposition on a black acryl plate in PDT was elucidated. Factors affecting pitch deposition such as stock temperature, the amount of air introduced and chemicals will be discussed. |
