Preparation and characterization of PEEK/PEI blends for sizing agent |

In this work, the interfacial interactions and bonding of CF/thermoplastic resin composites are improved by applying polyetheretherketone (PEEK) and applying polyether imide (PEI) sizing agents with different ratios at the interface. PEEK/PEI blends of compositions ranging from 20% to 80% by weight of PEI were prepared by liquid mixing. The surface morphologies of CF after sizing are examined by SEM and AFM. The micro interfacial properties of modified CF/PEEK composites are evaluated by the microbond test. |
