Fluorene-Based Conjugated Electrolytes for Cathode Buffer Layer in Inverted Organic Solar Cells |

A series fluorene-based conjugated electrolytes (FTF-NBr, FBF-NBr,PFT-NBr, and PFB-NBr) has been synthesized and utilized as cathode buffer layer in inverted organic solar cell. Cathode buffer layer (CBL) is interpretative to improving the power conversion efficiency (PCE) and long-term stability of an organic photovoltaic cell that utilizes a high work function cathode. Kelvin probe microscopy (KPM) measurement show that lowered effective work function of ITO/ZnO improves cathode contact. Interestingly, the oligomer (FTF-NBr and FBF-NBr) demonstrated a higher power conversion efficiency (PCE) (8.05% and 8.14%) than the polymer (PFT-NBr and PFB-NBr). Nevertheless the result indicate that Fluorene-based conjugated elecctrolytes are excellent CBL materials for organic solar cell. |
