Ion exchanger is widely used in various industries. The most common applications of ion exchange are fuel cell, water deionization or softening, metal recovery, production of ultra-pure wate. In this study, sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) membrane prepared with varying degree of sulfonation by using mixtures of chlorosulfuric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid as the sulfonating agent. The chemical structure of membrane was investigated by FT-IR spectrometer, NMR, EA and the basic properties of membrane such as water uptake (WU), ion exchange capacity (IEC) were measured. |
