While experimenting with the water content of Hydrogel using PEGDA 700 polymer, we found an interesting phenomenon of hysteresis by drying. After completely drying the Hydrogel composed of PEGDA 700 10w/%, after dry and reswelling hydrogel, it becomes more transparent and at the same time decreases the water content The first hypothesis for analyzing the hysteresis generated by drying is that water is evaporated, and the polymer chains are cracked due to stress applied to the polymer structure by the capillary force acting. The second hypothesis is that through the phenomenon of transparency, the structure of the polymer network becomes more uniform. In the case of a polymer with a large pore size, it is opaque due to the scattering of light due to its polymer structure. To confirm this phenomenon, chemical analysis (FT-IR, XPS) was used and the physical structure (Dextran FITC, Rhodamine B acrylate, Rheometer) was analyzed by Confocal microscope. |
