Synthesis and rare metal recovery of dendronized polymer microparticles |

Recently, demand of rare metals is increased due to their variety role of high technology applications. We synthesized dendronized polymer microspheres with specific functionality for metal ions via SPG membrane emulsification. The microspheres are an efficient source for collecting rare metals from sea water. First, Dendronized Allylaminebis(N-2-(2-(aminopropylamino)propyl)propanamide)(DAAPP) monomer was synthesized via transesterification; and then the poly(DAAPP)(PDAAPP) microspheres were fabricated via free-radical polymerization. Material composition and chemical structure of PDAAPP were analyzed and confirmed by 1HNMR analysis. The morphology and size of PDAAPP was observed by optical microscope analysis. Thermal stability and glass transition temperature were measured by TGA and DSC. Adsorption and desorption studies were quantitatively performed by ICP study to verify high selectivity of cobalt and rubidium. |
