Controlled Release and Morphology of Alfuzosin loaded Polyoxalate Microspheres |

One of major challenges in the drug delivery lies in the development of microspheres that are delivered to release their payload over an extended period to achieve a clinical response. We prepared alfuzosin loaded polyoxalate that was reported as a new family of biocompatible and biodegradable polymer. Microspheres were prepared using a simple method based on an emulsion-solvent evaporation method. Microsphere was manufactured according to the ratio of the solvent, PVA concentration, molecular weight of polymer and temperature. Morphology characteristics of microsphere, inclusion rate of alfuzosin and release rate of in vitro measure to use SEM and HPLC on various manufacturing conditions. Drug release profiles from alfuzosin loaded polyoxalate microspheres can be controlled and it has potential for controlled and sustained drug delivery. We made experiment on simple formulation and the control of drug release profiles. This research was supported by WCU (R31-20029). |
