제목 Synthesis and characterization of poly(oxyethylene) derivatives containing trifluoromethyl moieties in the side chains
초록 The trifluoromethyl moiety attached at the end of aliphatic hydrocarbon can show very unique properties due to its strong dipole. Randall’s group reported that the surface properties of self assembly monolayers (SAMs) of fluorinated alkanthiol are strongly affected by terminal trifluoromethyl group. Recently, we designed and synthesized new polyoxyethylene derivatives containing terminal trifluoromethyl groups in the side chains by polymer modification reaction to investigate the effect of terminal trifluromethyl groups on bulk and surface properties of polymers. The properties of theses polymers were characterize using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, gel permeation chromatography (GPC), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), X-ray diffraction, and contact angle goniometer.
