Effects of Different Types of Multiwalled CNTon Holographic Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal |

The electro-optical performance characteristics were investigated in holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystal (HPDLC) with the addition of carbon nanotube (CNT). To decrease driving voltage in HPDLC various amounts of CNT functionalized with sulfuric acid and nitric acid were added. Vinyl group modified CNT and pure CNT have also been added to the conventional polyurethane acrylate (PUA) system. It was founded that HPDLC based on polymer matrix containing CNT showed low driving voltage and fast rise time compared with conventional PUA system due to the their high dielectric constant. Such HPDLC also showed improved mechanical properties which was resulted from improved physical properties by adding CNT. |
