Carbon dots are evolved as the promising agents for the production of hydrogen gas. The cost-effectiveness and eco-friendly carbon dots synthesized by using corn as the natural precursor by means of hydrothermal method. But, as-prepared CDs have potential size, optical properties, and well-enough surface characteristics. The CDs are developed as the highly sustainable light-absorbing nanomaterial, which can be used in the different photocatalytic reactions. Also, CDs with suitable catalyst have drawn attention in the photocatalytic reaction mechanisms. The as-prepared CDs were characterized to using different techniques such as UV-vis spectroscopy, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, XRD, and XPS. The quantum yield of 11% was observed in the CDs. TEM results demonstrated the average size of the as-prepared CDs, which was found to be 3-5 nm. Further, the photocatalytic capacity of CDs with catalyst is highlighting the significance of hybrid system in the H2 gas production and its evolution. |
