In order to reduce carbon dioxide, research on mass culture of microalgae, a photoautotrophic microorganism, has been actively conducted. In order to scale up the microalgae culture process and increase the efficiency, research on the automation of the process is needed. Although many devices have been developed to automatically monitor the cell concentration in the photobioreactor, they mainly use a pump and a flow cell. This method has problems in that the possibility of contamination and complexity of installation. To overcome these problems, a device that can measure the cell concentration in real time by attaching it to the outside of the photobioreactor was developed. This device was able to measure the cell concentration with an accuracy similar to that of a UV-vis spectrometer. In addition, the cell growth pattern according to the circadian cycle was confirmed by measuring the concentration of microalgal cells cultured outdoors in real time. |
