Single chain antibody toward a C-myc tag |

The monoclonal antibody 9E10 has long been used for the detection and purification of recombinant proteins with a C-myc tag. We here sought the possibility of replacing the conventional full-length IgG type of 9E10 with a single chain antibody (scAb) fragment of the antibody. The scAb was designed, expressed in Escherichia coli, and purified using its His-tag with a moderated yield of 2~4 mg/L. The purified scAb was shown to be versatile in detecting and purifying C-myc-tagged proteins. |
