Drug Release Characteristics of Flurbiprofen from a Chitosan Bead |

Drug delivery system (DDS) using the chitosan beads has been investigated. The drug release behavior from chitosan beads loaded flurbiprofen was studied in terms of various conditions. Chitosan beads were prepared through the ionic cross-linking between chitosan and sodium tripolyphosphate (TPP). The experiments of drug release from chitosan bead were performed in phosphate buffer solution (PBS). The amount of released drug of flurbiprofen was analyzed by UV spectrophotometer at 247 nm. The loading efficiency of flurbiprofen increased with increasing concentration of TTP solution.Due to high loading efficiency and easiness of drug release control, chitosan beads could be used as a potential delivery system to control the release of drug. |
