Thermally responsive shape memory polymers (SMPs), especially those that respond close to body temperature, have received much attention in the biomedical field. In this study, a shape memory polymer was synthesized based on isosorbide and castor oil, which are natural derivatives, with transition temperature near body temperature.The obtained SMPs with different portion of isosorbide were investigated for their thermal properties, mechanical properties, and shape memory behavior. Thermal properties of SMPs were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal gracimetric analysis (TGA) and shape memory properties were measured using dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA). |
