High-energy visible light is well known to be suitable for photomedicine. However, when applied to the skin, there are limitations that the shorter the wavelength, the lower the penetration rate. To resolve these problems, we prepared upconversion (UC) dye loaded polycaprolactone grafted hyaluronic acid nanoparticles (HA-PCL /UC NPs) as a light source that can convert light with low energy into high energy.The successful preparation of nanocarriers was confirmed by DLS and TEM, and the encapsulation of UC dye and stability was confirmed by the UV-Vis spectrometer. By UC analysis, NPs stably emitted blue light, and further analysis in porcine skin tissue dispersant showed the applicability of our NPs in real skin tissue. With these results, our HA-based NPs are suitable for transdermal delivery of UC dye and can be an effective phototherapy platform for the treatment of skin diseases. |
