Low density TEOS based monolithic silica aerogels with high surface area prepared at an ambient pressure |
초록 |
Monolithic silica aerogels with extremely low density and high surface area were successfully prepared by the acid-base sol-gel polymerization of TEOS precursor followed by the drying of the alcogels at an ambient pressure through a multiple modification approach. TEOS-derived wet gel was made hydrophobic with multiple treatment of trimethylchlorosilane and dried under ambient pressure. The process yields silica aerogels exhibiting very low bulk density and extremely high surface area of 0.035 g/cm3 and 1150 m2/g, respectively. |
