A triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) may provide an efficient way to generate electrical power from mechanical motion. The improvement of output performance can be accomplished by increasing capacitance, a property associated with dielectric constant and material thickness. Herein, by utilizing different sugar particle sizes, different porosities of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) were created through a sugar-templating process. Next, the hydrophobic surface of the PDMS elastomer was coated with polydopamine (PDA) to facilitate the homogeneous deposition of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) on the PDMS surface. In this regard, PDMS can improve contact areas by reducing pore size, as well as improve dielectric constants. In this way, PDMS/AuNPs composites with controlled pore size could successfully increase output voltage and current. |
