제목 Novel sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) membranes with two different bisphenol moietiesfor a fuel cell application
초록 The proton transport properties of the ion exchange membranes are strongly associated with the morphology in microstructure. Most changes in morphology are mainly cause to bring out the occurrence of the partial phase separation between hydrophilic-hydrophobic segments of the membrane. It could be controlled by several ways such as a block-copolymerization, an introduction of co-monomers, a polymer-blend, and so on. In this study, novel proton-exchange membranes based on partially sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone)s (SPAESs) with two-different bisphenol moieties of 4,4’-hexafluoroisopropylidenediphenol (6F-BPA) and 9,9’-bis(hydroxy phenyl)fluorene (HPF) were fabricated by a direct polymerization and a subsequent solution casting technique. Resulting copolymers were characterized by various analytic methods, and their membrane properties were examined thoroughly for fuel cell applications.
