제목 Various surface modifications of polymer by ion implantation
초록 Surface modifications of polymer were carried out by ion implantation. The effects of ion implantation on the improvement of electrical conductivity and wettability of polymers were investigated in relation to ion species and fluences. The N2+ and Xe+ ion implantations were performed at energy 50 KeV for the improvement of wettability of polymers and with fluence ranging from 1 X 1016 to 3 X 1017 ions/cm2 for the improvement of conductivity of polymers. The conductivity increased more than 6 orders of magnitude and the contact angle decreased after ion implantation. The surface resistivities were measured using Super Megaohmmeter SM-8220 and the contact angles were measured using SEO300. XPS was used to investigate the surface state of implanted specimens. It is concluded that ion implantation is useful to improve electrical conductivity and wettability of polymers.
