In this work, the oxidation-induced characteristics of four nuclear graphites (NBG-17, NBG-25, IG-110, and IG-430) were studied. The oxidation characteristics of nuclear graphites were measured at 600℃.N2/77K adsorption isotherm characteristics, including the specific surface area and micropore volume, were investigated by BET and t-plot methods. As experimental results, the average pore size of graphites were increased, and the surface functional groups on the graphite surfaces was produced by oxidation. In case of specific surface areas, each graphite showed a different behavior . The specific surface area of NBG-17 slightly increased while that of IG-110 obviously increased. This result indicates that orginal surface state of each graphite is significantly different. |
