Amphiphilic block copolymers assemble into nanoscopic core-shell structures, micelles, which are of considerable interest for the delivery of hydrophobic anticancer drug. Polymeric micelles are self-assembled above CMC and lose the self-assembled structures below CMC, for example, during the circulation in blood stream. Targeted drug delivery system is highly desirable to enhance drug efficacy with reducing side effects. In this study focused on achieving prolonged circulation times for passive targeting of chemotherapeutic agents and environment sensitivity of the micelle assembly. We designed polymeric micelles with poly(ethylene glycol) and poly(ε-caprolactone) based containing functional groups between two block segments for drug delivery. |
