Non-volatile Molecular Memory Device based on solution processed Ag-TCNQ Crystals |

Organometallic materials such as Cu/Ag-tetracyanoquinodimethane have electrical, optical properties and their local electrical behavior have been studied by many groups. There are many reports of organic charge-transfer complex based on nano/micro structure of Cu/Ag-TCNQ. But, most experimental processes are used “spontaneous electrolysis” or vacuum evaporation of TCNQ on Cu/Ag or vacuum coevaporation. In this research, our group studied simple fabrication of memory device and observed that’s characteristics. We had grown Ag-TCNQ nano/micro-crystals by simply spin-coating TCNQ solution on Ag substrate and annealing at different temperature. The device exhibited reproducible memory characteristic with on/off ratio ~500. We observed that the on/off ratio of the device increased up to 105 by coating a layer of polymer(P4PMS) material on top of the TCNQ layer. In this way, the mass production of organometallic crystals will help in applying in high-density memory information storage. |
