Silica nanoparticles are opaque white because of aggregation, making them difficult to apply to the color range. So we conducted research to make transparent organosilica nanoparticles (OSNs) dispersion solution with 50 nm diameter or less. In this study, silica particles of various sizes were prepared by a Stöber process starting from TEOS, and surface modified OSNs dispersion solution was obtained through modifying its surface with AOS by controlling the reaction conditions such as the ratio of reactants, TEOS, AOS, and water, ethanol solvent, and reaction temperature, and time. The size and morphology of prepared surface modified OSNs solution have been measured by the SEM analytical techniques, their thermal properties also by TGA, DSC. The contact angle measurement was performed to confirm the hydrophobicity of the OSNs surface according to surface modification. In this presentation, we will discuss the synthesis and properties of OSNs obtained in this study in details. |
