제목 Catalytic Oxidation of Carbon Monoxide on TiO2 Supported Platinum nanoparticles at Ambient Condition
초록 CO oxidation over platinum has been studied extensively because of its practical applications such as air purification. Currently, the oxidation of CO to CO2 from automobile exhaust is accomplished by catalytic converters supported by platinum catalyst. In addition, CO oxidation has several applications at ambient temperature being used in regenerative CO2 lasers, rescue equipment and air purification. In this study, we report TiO2 supported platinum catalytic system for CO oxidation at ambient conditions and it shows high activity even under the ambient condition. It is already known that TiO2 is one of the most effective support oxides for gold catalyst working in an ambient temperature. However, it is not demonstrated with platinum catalyst. We compare the activity of CO oxidation with two different kind of commercial TiO2, which are Degussa P-25 (mixture of 80% anatase and 20% rutile), Hombikat UV-100.
