제목 | Modification and Characterization of Nafion Surface for Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) |
초록 | The direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) have attracted considerable interest because DMFC is a promising power source for clean energy and is expected to be a portable power source. However, DMFC performance is limited by several problems. Particularly, the methanol crossover from the anode to the cathode side across the polymer electrolyte membrane is one of the most serious problems in DMFC. This problem (methanol crossover) can induce the decrease in performance of the DMFC. Therefore, in order to improve the DMFC performance, it will be necessary to eliminate or, at least, to reduce the methanol crossover. In this study, we performed out the modification of Nafion surface using organic/organic and organic/inorganic multilayer films prepared with self-assembly method (SA) in order to reduce the methanol crossover. Structure and performance of the modified Nafion surface were characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, Refractive index detector (RI detector) and Ac impedance. And single cell test which contains the modified Nafion was also carried out. |
