제목 | Modification and Characterization of Nafion Surface for Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) |
초록 | Recently, many studies on the fuel cells, particularly direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC), have been extensively carried out because DMFC is a promising power source for clean energy and is expected to be a portable power source. Compared with various fuel cell types, DMFC have a lot of advantages. For example, methanol has liquid form at room temperature, high energy density and is inexpensive. However, in the case of DMFC, methanol crossover through the polymer electrolyte membrane can induce the decrease in performance of the DMFC. Therefore, it is very important to reduce methanol crossover for preparing useful DMFC. In this study, we carried out the modification of Nafion surface using polymer multilayer films prepared with self-assembly method (SA) in order to reduce methanol crossover. Structure and performance of the modified Nafion surface were characterized by UV/Vis spectroscopy and refractive index detector (RI detector). |
