Polymer electrodes have several advantages, including being environmentally friendly and mechanically flexible, but polymer electrodes generally have had lower charge/discharge capacity than commercial lithium metal oxide-based cathodes. On the other hand, organothiol(-SH)/disulfide(S-S) compounds have attracted considerable attention as a new energy storage system for lithium batteries due to its much higher theoretical capacity than lithium metal oxide-based cathode materials. However, the practical application of sulfur has been hindered because of the lack of electronic conductivity (10-8 S/cm) which causes the loss of capacity and poor charge/discharge durability. In this study, disulfide bonds will be linked to the side chain of polyaniline and formed conjugated crosslinking between polymer chains to enhance electrical properties of the polymer electrode. |
