제목 Degradation Kinetics of poly lactic acid-Silk composites
초록 Biodegradable polymers have raised considerable interest over the past two decades in fundamental research and in the chemical industry. Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) is a biodegradable and biocompatible thermoplastic polyester with high strength and high modulus and can be produced from renewable sources. The chief advantage of PLA is its low toxicity, excellent biocompatibility, and bioabsorption in vivo, which have been widely used as sutures, sustained drug carriers, implants for orthopedic devices. Silk fibroin is a fibrous biopolymer made up of proteins containing repetitive sequences of both crystalline and amorphous domains and have a-helix crystalline structure is produced by a silkworm of the species mulberry silk (Bombyx mori) and is widely used by humanity as dress material. The present paper describes a part of our research regarding the degradation kinetics of composites prepared from a commercial PLA in combination with silk powder.
