Recently, hierarchical hybrids on polyaniline nanowires and graphene nanosheets (GNS), have received significant research attention in energy storage devices such as supercapacitors due to its unique electrical, mechanical properties and large surface areas. In the present work, we have studied the effect of silica nanoparticles on the hierarchical morphological structure and electrical conductivity of the graphene/polyaniline composites. Successful formation of polyaniline nanostructures on the surface of graphene was characterized using various characterization tools. Supercapacitor electrodes based on these nanocomposites were fabricated and characterized for its electrochemical performances. This study reveals that these composite materials exhibit superior electrochemical rate capability and cyclic stability, which are the primary requirements for electrochemical capacitors. |
