Poly(3-hydroxybutylate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate)(PHBV) is a copolymer of microbial polyester, beside being biodegradable and biocompatible, exhibit characteristics that are similar to conventional thermoplastics. The electrospinning technique is well suited to produce nanofibrous scaffold for biomedical application because that offers high specific surface area, three dimensional organization and possibility of various modification in spite of simple process. In this study, we fabricated biodegradable nanofibrous mats, ranging downward from 2 ㎛ to 200 ㎚ diameter by electrospinning of PHBV solution. Electrospun PHBV fabrics provides an attractive structure for attachment, growth and migration of chondrocytes as a tissue engineering scaffold. |
