제목 Performance Improvement of Organic TFTs by Surface Treatment of Polyimide Gate Dielectrics
초록 Surface treatment of gate dielectrics have been investigated to improve performance of organic TFTs. The most common agents for the treatment of the hydrophilic inorganic gate dielectric are hexamethyldisilazane(HMDS) and octadesyltrichlorosilane(OTS). However, there has been a lack of research on surface treatment of organic gate dielectric. So, we studied new surface treatment method for organic gate dielectric to optimize OTFT device performance using alkylthiol reagents. Aromatic polyimide has been used as a gate dielectric which have excellent chemical, physical and mechanical properties. In our study, polyimide gate dielectric having the double bonds were treated with alkylthiol. We have observed an increase in water contact angle from about 64° for bare polyimide to 92° for alkylthiol-treated polyimide. In this presentation, electrical characteristics of pentacene TFTs with alkylthiol-treated polyimide gate dielectric will be discussed in more details.
